Monaco Grand Prix 2014: RESULT
Once again Mercedes has the front row to itself for the Grand Prix in Monaco, thanks to a controversial pole lap by Nico Rosberg, which leaves the prospect of an exciting fight between Rosberg and Hamilton for the win. But in truth, despite Hamilton’s best efforts, it was a clear lights to flag win for the German in Monaco, and another one-two for Mercedes. It also means Rosberg leapfrogs Hamilton to lead the drivers championship.
VW boss Martin Winterkorn says Volkswagen has enough brands
Volkswagen seems to be on a world domination plan. Audi is expanding with every passing day and the VW Group (Auto Union to be) has an unrivalled list of brands under its umbrella, including Audi, SEAT, Skoda, Bentley, Lamborghini, Bugatti and of course VW itself. It also recently effectively took control of Porsche (after the failed efforts by Porsche to take control of VW) and has just announced a near 20% stake in Suzuki.
Mercedes-Benz will be bringing back the Maybach name for the extra-long-wheelbase S-class, which is expected to go on sale by the end of this year. This version of the S-class will be a third bodystyle (out of an eventual total of four), and will be positioned above the V12-powered S600 and its AMG siblings. The Maybach-branded Mercedes-Benz personal limousine will essentially be a replacement for the Maybach 62, and will feature an entirely reworked rear section with new rectangular rear doors and a new rear passenger compartment with first-class seating.
